The Catalan Ombudsman, Rafael Ribó, and the president of the International Association of Language Comissioners, Graham Fraser, will be holding the International Symposium on Language Rights and Social Cohesion in Plurilinguistic Societies, that will take place in March 2014.
The Symposium will be held within the framework of the Tricentenari Commemoration Events, organized by the Catalan Government and Barcelona’s City Hall.
The Symposium will be focused on language rights in Catalonia, in Spain and in other plurilinguistic countries taking into account the work carried out by the institutions defending people’s rights, whether they are ombudsmen or language comissioners, and also by means of a historical, social and legal approach.
To that end, ombudsman/commissioner office holders as well as national and international experts on the matter will be attending to the symposium.
